The Kaari Desk is Artek's first collaboration with French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. It boasts a light, fluid design, seemingly crafted from a single pen stroke. Supported by oak pillars, its stability stems from a gracefully designed steel band that radiates outwards in wing-like extensions from its base. "Kaari" translates to "arch" in Finnish, reflecting its structural elegance. The interplay between the solid vertical board and the metal bands gives the base a surprisingly light appearance, resulting in a distinctive linear silhouette.

Designed around a smart, versatile component, the Kaari Collection is not only a sturdy and practical piece but also presents a fresh and unique expression. The tabletop comes in various finishes: high-pressure laminate in black gloss, and black linoleum. Both options feature a strong MDF core and ABS black edge band. With a contemporary appeal, the Kaari desk offers stability, durability and versatility, making it apt for both residential and public spaces.

The Kaari Desk is available in one size: 150 x 65 cm. The series also includes tables in rectangular, round, and square variations.

    Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec

There are few, if any, designers as well renowned and respected as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec - often known simply as the Bouroullec Brothers. Ronan is a graduate of the École supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris and Erwan attended the École nationale supérieure des Arts in Cergy before starting their own studio together in Paris.

The design duo started their practice as joint partners in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for offering a new perspective on materiality and purpose. Since then they have worked with some of the world’s most illustrious design brands, creating products which are already considered to be future classics. Their work ranges from small utilitarian objects to architectural projects. In...
