Tasca Stool is designed by Pedro Sottomayor for Frama. Conceived with timeless materials and a multi-purpose function for both indoor and outdoor spaces, the Tasca Stool is characterised by modern design simplicity and function. This colour-neutral stool is manufactured almost entirely in brushed aluminium that seamlessly flows from top to bottom.
'Tasca' is the name for small, family-run, Portuguese restaurants found in old neighbourhoods. The idea was to take classic Tasca-style furniture made from dark-stained wood and reimagine it in raw aluminium for a completely new aesthetic.
The stool's pure industrial aesthetic is complemented by the skilful use of aluminium, with a slim and perfectly moulded seat supported by sleek yet sturdy legs. The choice to use aluminium as the primary material is driven by the appeal of its lightness, comfort and durability. Unlike any other furniture made of steel or iron, the stool does not rust, but gracefully ages. With its distinctive silverly look, the Tasca stool is a very versatile piece, perfect for every space.
With a distinctive brushed finish applied by hand, Tasca's rounded form encases the user. All units are individually crafted and manufactured in Portugal, in one of the oldest furniture factories with more than a century of work experience and crafts tradition. The raw aluminium surface will develop a graceful patina over time, as your story and the chair's merge together.
