When you place a tealight in your Urbania lighthouses during the dark months, light and warmth will spread into your home to accentuate the cosy corners.
The beautiful handmade Urbania lighthouses are inspired by traditional Christmas decorations, and with their simple yet poetic idiom, they fit beautifully into contemporary homes. Their expression is modern, but remains comfortable and recognisable. In the dark evenings in the Nordic region, the graceful Urbania lighthouses are reminiscent of the warm hospitality of the home with the shimmering lights and lively shadows.
"During the design process, we were preoccupied with the memory of how we as kids could sit for hours and design romantic Christmas landscapes decorated with wadding and little forest lakes made of mirrors. And it was this childhood memory, only in a new and updated version that inspired us", says designer Barbara Bendix Becker.
Urbania invites you to play - The houses may be a recurring element of a modern Christmas landscape or a small village of light that you build together with your children. The idea is that you should have a saying about the design, you decide what the village shall ultimately look like. Therefore, it is important that the houses work visually, individually and as a whole.
All Urbania light houses feature a special design, in which the distinctive silhouette of the building makes space for creativity in the configuration of each and every window. Whether large or small, they are all cut by hand, so, wherever you place them, the light spreading from the houses creates playful clusters of light and shadow around them.
