The word Arcana from Latin arcanus, meaning ‘secret’ was often used in reference to the mysteries of the physical and spiritual worlds. ‘The Emerald Tablet’, an esoteric text believed to hold the secrets of the universe describes the action of seven compounds known as the ‘Arcana’ or ‘Magical Secrets’. Alchemists were said to be pursuing these magical secrets and elixirs, the ‘arcana of nature’, which have the power to prolong life and restore harmony between the above and below. Inspired by this, the Arcana essence was formulated with seven therapeutic essential oils to help restore being.

Everything that goes into an Essence + Alchemy candle is listed on the packaging: plant wax, essential oils and a natural wood wick, which when lit will crackle and glow giving out a warm glow and calming, aromatic scent. Nothing else goes into these candles - no synthetic fragrances, no additives, just pure and natural botanical goodness.
