'Lemon Tree' by BD Graft for Wrap shows a bright yellow vessel with a tree filled with zesty lemons. Illustrated using acrylic and paper collage, 'Lemon Tree' is then printed on heavy uncoated stock using vegetable based inks. The cards are sold individually and are sent packaged in a jiffy bag with a card sheet to prevent bending in transit. Each card measures 9 cm x 12 cm and is paired with a corresponding grey envelope.
Brian de Graft, better known by the name BD Graft, is a German visual artist living and working in Amsterdam. Graft's light, graphic style recalls Matisse's cutouts mixed with Bauhaus-era design and Pop Art levity. Both foliage and fruit play a central role in Graft's illustrations, as does colour. Plants in vases, collages and paintings of gestural foliage emerging from boldly hued vessels emphasises the artist's playful side.
